This study aims to examine the effect of competence on employee performance at the office of PT. Pelindo IV Persero Makassar. The population in this study are all permanent employees who work in PT.Pelindo IV (Persero) Makassar cafeteria as many as 164 permanent employees, the sample in this study was 62 respondents using the Slovin formula. To achieve the purpose in this study using simple regression analysis method with SPSS 23 software.
The results of this study indicate that partially on t test shows that the competence has a positive and significant effect on employee performance at the office of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia IV (Persero) Makassar, which is shown by t-count (3.838)> t-table (1999) and significant 0.00 <0.05.

HENI PRIDIYANINGRUM. Pengaruh Kompetensi Terhadap Kinerja Karyawan pada Kantor PT.PELINDO IV PERSERO MAKASSAR. Di bimbing oleh Jusuf Radja dan Heslina
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh kompetensi terhadap kinerja karyawan pada kantor PT. Pelindo IV persero Makassar. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh karyawan tetap yang bekerja di katntor PT.Pelindo IV (Persero) Makassar sebanyak 164 karyawan tetap, sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 62 responden menggunakan rumus Slovin. Untuk mencapai tujuan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis Regresi sederhana dengan software SPSS 23.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa secara parsial pada uji t menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja pegawai pada kantor PT Pelabuhan Indonesia IV (Persero)Makassar, yang di tunjukkan dengan t-hitung (3.838)> t-tabel (1.999) dan signifikan 0.00<0.05.
