This study aims to test the influence of competence on employee performance moderated professionalism at PT PELINDO IV Makassar I. The population in this study are all employees working at PT PELINDO IV Makassar I. A total of 164 employees, the sample in this study as many as 62 respondents using simple random sampling . The analysis used in hypothesis testing is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the help of Software WarpPLS vers, 5.0. The results of this study indicate that partially competence has a positive and significant effect on employee performance with a beta value of 0.475 and a significant level of 0.001 <0.05 and professionalism have a positive and significant effect on employee performance with a beta value of 0,520 and a significant level of 0.001 <0 , 05 whereas competence has positive and insignificant effect on employee performance which is moderated by professionalism with beta value equal to 0,516 and significant level 0,099 <0,05.
